The enchantment of the steam era is captured on the historic branchline railway linking Castlemaine and Maldon. Visitors can board the steam train at Castlemaine or Maldon Stations and be transported back in time. An authentic experience of the era when steam ruled the rails. All the wonderful atmosphere of steam train travel is brought to life with Victorian Goldfields Railway, operated by a Society dedicated to the preservation of railway heritage. All ages enjoy this classic steam train journey. Regular services on Wednesday and Sundays throughout the year. Also on Saturdays during Victorian School Holidays and Public Holidays falling either side of a weekend. Does not operate Xmas or Boxing Days. In addition to the regular services, Victorian Goldfields Railway offers Special Charter Trains for special occasions, social functions, corporate hire. Driver Experience Days where individuals can actually drive the train. Family Fun Days for the young and the young at heart. Locomotive Cab Rides on scheduled trains. Group Booking discounts.
